Here are the details of this deal!

Exhale Hyatt Bonus Points Promotion

Exhale is a chain of boutique spas recently acquired by Hyatt.  Exhale offers things like fitness classes, spas, treatments, etc.  It’s not actually participating in the World of Hyatt program yet, but Hyatt has been running promotions to introduce Hyatt members to the brand.

Through February 15, 2018, Exhale is offering bonus Hyatt points on certain purchases.  World of Hyatt members can earn the bonus at participating Exhale locations in New York.  You can earn:

To get the deal you’ll need to show your World of Hyatt membership number at check-in.  And you’ll only get the bonus points at 7 participating New York Exhale locations:

You can combine this promotion with the recent Exhale Week of Wellbeing and fitness class discounts (valid only at the Exhale in Flatiron).  But spa discounts aren’t valid at New York locations.  And the Week of Wellbeing promotion packages cost $10 more in New York than anywhere else!

Is This a Good Deal?

Hyatt has a generous award chart, which is why they are my favorite Chase Ultimate Rewards hotel transfer partner.  You can reserve a free room at a Category 1 Hyatt hotel for as few as 5,000 Hyatt points, which typically cost between $80 and $150 per night!

This Promotion Could Earn You a Free Night at the Hyatt House Fishkill. But It’s Only a Good Deal for a VERY Small Number of Folks

The cheapest Exhale massage, facial treatment, or fitness class package I saw started at ~$140.  And monthly memberships are even more!  That’s a steep price to pay for 5,000 to 10,000 bonus Hyatt points!  So for most folks, this is NOT a good deal.

But if you happen to live in New York, and were planning on joining a fitness club or getting a massage anyway, this might make sense.  Exhale treatments aren’t likely to be much more expensive than many competitors in New York (it’s expensive there!).  You might as well get a few thousand Hyatt points for a purchase you were going to make anyway.

Hyatt hotels include:

Hyatt is my favorite hotel chain.  I consider them to have the best balance of value and comfort.  And the points are relatively easy to earn, because you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio!

I love to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt for free hotel stays.

Remember, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt to top-off your account for an award stay if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Ink Business Preferred Credit Card, or (no longer offered) Ink Bold card or Ink Plus card.

And if you have one of the cards listed above, you can indirectly transfer points earned from the Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, and Ink Business Cash Credit Card too!

You can also open the Chase Hyatt card to earn a bunch of Hyatt points in a hurry!  This card is NOT affected by Chase’s strict application rules.  Read my post on how to get the best sign-up offer with this card.

Bottom Line

Until February 15, 2018, World of Hyatt members can earn bonus Hyatt points for certain purchases at participating Exhale locations in New York.  For example, you can earn 10,000 Hyatt points for a getting a monthly membership, which costs ~$200.  Or 5,000 Hyatt points for purchasing a massage, which costs ~$155.

For most folks, it’s not worth going out of your way to get this deal.  But if you live in New York, and were planning on pampering yourself with spa treatments or joining a fitness club, then this might make sense for you.  Hyatt has a great award chart, so you could end up with a free night or 2 at a Category 1 Hyatt for a purchase you were making anyway!
