You can now book paid and award flights to Cuba on Southwest.

Flights from Fort Lauderdale to Varadero will begin November 13, 2016.

And flights from Fort Lauderdale and Tampa to Havana will start December 12, 2016.

To celebrate the new flights, Southwest has a fare sale!

Book a Round-Trip Flight to Havana From Fort Lauderdale for as Little as ~$150

You can book a round-trip flight for ~$150+.  Or you can book a round-trip award flight for 4,464 Southwest points and ~$47 in taxes and fees.

The fare sale is good when you book by November 20, 2016, for travel between November 13, 2016, and April 24, 2017.

Million Mile Secrets team member Keith used his Companion Pass to book flights for himself and his wife for 4,464 Southwest points and ~$94 in taxes and fees.  That’s a great deal!

Remember, you’ll need to make sure your visit falls into one of the 12 categories for approved travel into Cuba.

Emily was approved to visit because she wanted to “support for the Cuban people” by getting to know the locals and spending money to encourage small business there.

And it was totally worth it because she and her friends love music and dance, which are some of Cuba’s specialties!

This is good timing!  Because starting October 17, 2016, you’ll be able bring unlimited amounts of Cuban rum and cigars back to the US for personal consumption!
