Update:   One or more card offers in this post are no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.

1.   Delta Airlines Reduced Mileage Awards

Via Free Frequent Flyer Miles, you can save 5,000 Delta Airlines miles to 15,000 Delta Airlines miles when redeeming award tickets by December 23, 2014.

But you need to have 1 of these cards:

Or have Delta Airlines elite status.

Award Tickets have to be booked by December 23, 2014, for travel January 7, 2015, through March 25, 2015.

You can travel between select destinations in the US (except Alaska and Hawaii) and:

  • Caribbean
  • Central America
  • Mexico
  • South America

I don’t like how Delta does NOT list which destinations apply.  So you’ll have to search for the cities you want and see if the reduced mileage applies.  Such a waste of time!

2.   $10 Off $10 Amazon Order (Targeted)

Via Deals We Like, you can get $10 off a $10 Amazon.com order when you link to a participating loyalty program and pay with points by January 12, 2015.

If you were targeted for the offer, you’ll see a banner ad when you log into your account.  Emily and I weren’t targeted. 🙁

Although, some folks on Slickdeals have been successful calling Amazon to get the $10 credit.

Use promotion code “SWP10HOL” when you check out.  And your purchases must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com.

But, you can buy gift cards for other stores from Amazon and the $10 off works!

I don’t like having to use points to pay for my purchases because I’d rather get Big Travel for Small Money.  But Deals We Like was able to use 1 cent and still get the $10 discount.

If your purchase is greater than $10 you can pay the remainder with the Freedom to get 5X points or Discover to get 5% back this quarter.

You can link these participating loyalty programs:

3.   $5 Off $50 at Staples

You get $5 off a $50 order at Staples.com when you select store pick up and shop by December 24, 2014.

This offer is NOT valid at Staples stores. You have to shop online.

Use promotion code “51520” when you order.  Each person can only use the code once.

Shop Online at Staples and Save $5 Off a $50 Order When You Choose Store Pick Up

The terms say that gift cards are excluded and you have to pick up at the store.  But I got the $5 off buying Visa gift cards and shipping to my address.

You’ll get 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points when you use your Ink Bold, Ink Business Cash Credit Card, or Ink Plus because you get 5X points at office supply stores including Staples.

Or use your AMEX SimplyCash for 5% back at US office supply stores.

Because all online purchases get 5% back this quarter, you can use your Discover card and get 5% cash back.

It looks like Staples is trying to attract last-minute holiday shoppers.  So now procrastinators can do better than the usual 3X points for picking up Christmas gifts at the gas station.  Not that I would know about that! 😉

Similar or better deals are routinely available off-peak on American for extended periods, all destinations in the designated regions, more regions. I guess if you only have SkyMiles, it’s better than nothing.
