1.   Cheap Flights to Iceland & Europe From the West Coast Coming Soon

Via One Mile at a Time, budget airline WOW Air will start selling flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Iceland in January 2016!  I had a good experience flying with them to Reykjavik.

They currently have a great sale: $99 1-way to Iceland from Baltimore and Boston.  And ~$150 to other cities in Europe.

Next Summer, You’ll Be Able to Fly WOW Air Between Iceland and California!

I like that we’re getting more options for Big Travel With Small Money!  This could be a terrific way to fly to Europe 1-way on a cheap paid flight, then return using miles and points.

2.   1,000 IHG Points After 1 Stay

If you have upcoming stays planned at IHG hotels, it’s worth registering for their new Priceless Surprises promotion.

You’ll earn 1,000 IHG points after your 1st stay, and on subsequent stays you’ll be entered to win prizes, like trips for 2 to New York, Paris, and Florida.

And you can combine this deal with IHG’s current Accelerate promotion.

You must use a MasterCard to book and stay at any IHG Hotel between November 15, 2015, and February 15, 2016.  You can check-out as late as February 29, 2016, as long as you check-in by February 15, 2016.  Then you’ll get the 1,000 IHG points.

IHG hotels include Candlewood SuitesCrowne PlazaHoliday InnHoliday Inn ExpressHotel IndigoIntercontinental Hotels & Resorts, and Staybridge Suites brand hotels.

It’d be a great deal if you’re able to combine this with the current IHG PointBreaks promotion!  That’s where IHG hotels around the world cost only 5,000 points per night.  Perhaps buy 1 night, and that pays for 20% of your next night in points.

To enter, register for the Priceless Surprises promotion here.

3.   New: Earn Amazon.com Gift Cards When You Book Hotels

Rocketmiles allows you to book hotels and earn airline miles as an incentive for using their service.  Here’s my review of Rocketmiles.

And now they’re giving you the option to earn Amazon.com gift cards.

You can earn up to $100 in Amazon gift cards per night.  That said, always shop around to be sure you’re getting the best deal!

4.   $20 Off $100+ Hotel Stay With American Express

Jetsetter.com is another online service vying for your hotel booking dollars.  I haven’t used them, so let me know your experience in the comments!

You might try them out thanks to the current deal that’s available to American Express cardholders.  You’ll get $20 off a $100+ booking made on Jetsetter.com.  Once you register, you have until January 31, 2016, to buy your room.

Look for the offer in your online account.  Or tweet “#AmexJetsetter” with your connected Twitter account.  Here’s how to sign-up for AMEX Offers.

And here are the full details of the offer.

I’m most excited about WOW Air departing from more US cities.  The increased competition and their friendly service will keep the pressure on other airlines to give us good deals.

And this adds flexibility in that you don’t have to wait until you have all the points required for a nearly-free round-trip award flight to Europe.

You can fly 1-way in coach on WOW Air, then splurge for a ride in Business Class on the way home.
