If you’ve already fallen off the New Year’s diet wagon and like to eat out, here’s an easy way to earn 3,000 Delta miles!

New SkyMiles Dining members can earn up to 3,000 bonus Delta miles when they sign-up and spend $30 or more at participating restaurants within 30 days of joining.

It’s free to sign-up.  To participate in the deal, create your new account by March 31, 2016.

You’ll earn:

See my post on how to eat meals and earn miles for more details about Rewards Network dining programs like this one!

3.   Romantic Valentine’s Trip to Paris – Only $2,900 for 2 in Business Class

Want to make this Valentine’s Day extra-special?  La Compagnie has a terrific sale on Business Class tickets between New York and Paris!

You’ll pay $2,900 for TWO round-trip, Business Class tickets between New York (Newark) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle) when you book by February 14, 2016.

Travel dates are from February 8, 2016, to February 21, 2016.  Tickets are non-refundable.

You’ll make a big impression on your Valentine if you book this deal, because La Compagnie is an all-Business Class airline, with just 74 lie-flat seats on the plane.  It could be worth a splurge if you’re celebrating a special anniversary or planning a proposal!

4.   Fly Los Angeles to Costa Rica for Just $149 1-Way on Southwest

To promote their new non-stop route between Los Angeles and Liberia, Costa Rica, Southwest is selling seats starting at just ~$149 each way!

Liberia is a good choice for folks who like eco-tourism, beaches, and outdoor adventures.  It’s close to several national parks and volcanoes.  And there are plenty of gorgeous beach hotel options on the Gulf of Papagayo.

Purchase your tickets by February 1, 2016, by 11:59 pm in the time zone of your originating city.  Travel dates are between April 12, 2016, and May 25, 2016.

Note:   I found available seats on sale every day during the travel period.  But flights returning from Liberia are slightly more expensive (~$173), because of Costa Rican airport and tourism taxes.

A round-trip ticket to Costa Rica for ~$321 is a terrific deal!  And twice as sweet if you have the Southwest Companion Pass, because your companion flies with you for free on paid and award tickets.

Let me know if you plan a visit!

@Charles Lindsey – Your score will drop slightly each time you apply for a card, but after a few months it should bounce back (if you pay your bills on time and don’t carry a balance):

@Lczar – Folks on FlyerTalk report you should not be charged a foreign transaction fee unless AMEX Travel processes the charge in a foreign currency:

Your best bet is to use an AMEX card that doesn’t add foreign transaction fees, like the AMEX Platinum, AMEX Premier Rewards Gold, AMEX Starwood Preferred Guest, or AMEX Delta Gold:

Will you be charged a foreign exchange fee on the amex offer for hotels out of the country if you prepay?

1. How can I keep my credit score over 800. Every time I apply for a card to get bonus miles they do a credit check and the score goes down.?

2. What is the best way to accumulate miles? I primarily use Delta and United out of Atlanta.

Thanks in advance.
