A new study reveals the power that taking vacations has on your health. The study showed that improving your lifestyle to be more healthy, including stopping smoking and losing weight, isn’t enough. “Working too hard, not sleeping enough and not taking enough vacation” are the 3 main culprits.
People need to more vacation, and more of it than Americans are used to, specifically 3 weeks or more. For many people, asking for more time off work is too difficult, and vacations are too expensive….or are they?
Vacations Don’t Have to Cost a Lot
I have to spend money on groceries, gas, and doctor appointments anyway, so I might as well be rewarded for it! Some of my favorite credit cards to earn rewards with are the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card. I regularly transfer my Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Southwest Airlines or United Airlines for free at a 1:1 ratio, and then book super cheap flights on Southwest and/or United. One of my favorite vacations was my girls’ trip to Croatia. I flew to Croatia with Chase points that I transferred to United Airlines.

If can’t convince your employer to give you more vacation, then at least don’t use the “I Can’t Afford Vacation” excuse. Get a travel rewards credit card, and start using it to have fun with your friends and see the world. Life is too short!
