Here are the details:

Stay a Night at the Santa Marina Luxury Collection Resort in Mykonos, Greece, and Earn 1,000 Bonus Starwood Points!

Are Either of These Promotions a Good Deal?

I love the Marriott Free Night MegaBonus, and I would switch my hotel stays to take advantage of it.  Because a free night at a Category 1 to 5 hotel can save you hundreds!

Plus, there are 3,600+ hotels worldwide where you can use that free night!  And Category 5 Marriott hotels cost 25,000 Marriott points per night.  Not a bad return for 2 stays with Marriott!

But I would NOT switch my stays to take advantage of the Starwood Explore More promotion.  Because there are plenty of other more valuable hotel deals right now, like the Wyndham Masterpass promotion and IHG Accelerate.

That said, I’d register for both promotions, because registering is quick and easy, and you never know when you’ll find yourself in one of these hotels!

Bottom Line

Marriott and Starwood have new promotions for folks with stays from September 12, 2017, through January 15, 2018.  But you’ll need to register by November 30, 2017, to qualify.

With the latest offer from Marriott, you’ll earn 1 free night at a Marriott Category 1 to 5 hotel after you complete 2 paid stays.

With the Starwood promotion, you can earn between 500 and 1,000 bonus Starwood points per stay, depending on the hotel brand you stay at.  And 10,000 bonus Starwood points for staying 25+ nights.

Are either of these offers enough to make you switch hotel stays?

I’m getting an error with the Marriott Links:

We’re sorry, but there was an error in directing you to this promotion.
The reason for this error could be:
You’re trying to access a miles promotion and are a points-earner, or vice versa
You are not eligible for this promotion
This promotion has expired

Nina, I am having the same problem. Does anyone at MMS have any feedback on why that might be?

Hmm… I can’t reproduce this error. Everything’s working for me!

This thread suggest folks use Marriott direct message when getting that error:

I’m in no need of hotel points at the moment. However, I can always use them next summer. Would you still apply for the Chase Marriott card before it’s gone?

Million Mile Secrets

I haven’t heard anything about the Chase Marriott card disappearing. So there’s no rush open it.

The AMEX Starwood cards, however, will likely be disappearing soon. And you can transfer Starwood points to Marriott at a ratio of 1:3 (1 Starwood point = 3 Marriott points).

So, it might be the SPG card that will disappear? I had one but my husband has not. He’ll have to apply ASAP.

Last month, I transferred my SPG points to Marriott for our stay in Ft. Myers in February. A free stay is always good!
