Coming to a body of water near you. It’s Ritz-Carlton on a yacht.
Ritz-Carlton has been hard at work to introduce a cruise option to their brands, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. And a couple weeks ago, the hotel’s first yacht entered the seas of Spain.
The ship still requires months of work before it’s ready for use. But Ritz-Carlton expects to begin service in early 2020. There is no word yet on whether or not you will be able to use Marriott points for these cruises. Maybe it will be similar to what they do with their home sharing program.
Ritz-Carlton Luxury Yacht Line Coming in 2020
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection sounds like it’s going to be the First Class version of a mainstream cruise line. A big selling point is that each ship will have just 149 cabins on board (a much more intimate experience than a 2,500 room cruise ship!)
The routes Marriott has chosen sound like winners. There are transatlantic cruises, tours through Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, Canada, and the Caribbean.
The ships will have 5 restaurants, as well as a champagne bar. You’ll also have all the expected amenities of a cruise ship like a pool, spa, and entertainment. The inclusions of the experience are:
- Dedicated Personal Assistant attending each suite
- On-board gratuities
- Multiple dining venues
- 24-hour in-suite dining
- Beverages in-suite and throughout the yacht
- On-board entertainment and enrichment
- Wi-Fi
- Marina-style platform with access to water-sports
The jaw-dropping suites are attached to a jaw-dropping price tag. For example, the 9-night tour that appeals most to me, a voyage between Norway, Sweden, and Scotland, costs ~$16,000 after taxes for 2 people in a Terrace Suite (the lowest category room). That’s ~$1,700 per night!
The lowest price is currently a 4-night voyage between Saint Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe, and Barbados, for ~$6,400 for 2 people.
Despite the repelling price, I’m hyped for this thing. Hopefully Marriott will let us redeem points (at a reasonable rate) for these all-suite cabins. We’ve reached out to Marriott about further details, and we’ll tell you when we hear back!
