Just applied/approved and I actually read in the terms/contract that once you “agree & submit”, you will receive 35,000 for this particular application. So that’s a binding contract, right? 😉 I took a screenshot of the wording because I was leery.

“If your application IS NOT [emphasis mine] received by 3/30/16 you will not be eligible for the 35,000 bonus Starpoints offer, even if your application is subsequently approved.” So you should receive it regardless when approved… but then the next sentence says that “AmEx reserves the right to modify or revoke this offer at any time”. oof.

Aloha D & E~ I was hoping to use the link to apply for this card, in case there was a benefit for you as well, but couldn’t find any live links. just wondering why it was removed so early? Applied about 1230p here in Hawaii and was approved so it’s still a live offer.

Appreciate all the help. I’m learning so much. Mahalo~!

Wasn’t aware that language was in the terms. Good to know, thanks!

You can only get 1 bonus per lifetime *per product*. i.e. The SPG Personal and the SPG Business are two different products, and you can get the bonus once for each card.

You can still get other personal AMEX cards and get their bonuses, provided you haven’t held that product before.

Also, AMEX typically will not approve you for more than 4 Credit Cards, which is not to be confused with Charge Cards (i.e. AMEX Premier Rewards Gold and AMEX Platinum Cards).

Do you mean that I can only earn a bonus once for the Starwood Amex personal card or any Amex personal card? For instance, if I sign up for the Starwood card would I not be eligible for any other Amex bonuses? Also because of the merger isn’t it likely they’ll eliminate this card in the near future? So other than a credit check is there any negative to getting this card? Thanks!

Thank you. But I am 99.9999999% sure that you will get the offer if you apply by 3/30/16 regardless of the approval date. One don’t need to be approved by that date, it is that the application need to be received by Amex on 3/30/2016.
