This week Chase announced new partnerships with DoorDash and Lyft that will add a variety of benefits to select Chase credit cards. With this news, changes are also being made to the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and its annual fee is increasing by $100, from $450 to $550 a year.
But, this change isn’t happening until Jan. 12th, so you’ve still got some time to get the card with the lower annual fee. Also if you currently have the card, the higher annual fee will apply to account renewals from April 1st 2020.
Because you can get the added perks with the lower annual fee, now is an excellent time to apply for the card, which you can do here.
Just remember that you’ll need to be under the 5/24 rule and you can only have one version of the Sapphire card at a time. Also, you aren’t eligible for the Sapphire Reserve card if you currently have any version of a Sapphire card or you’ve earned an intro bonus from any Sapphire card in the previous 48 months.
You can learn more about the new Lyft perks here, which includes bonus points on Lyft rides and a free year of Lyft Pink membership, (15% off rides and more) worth ~$239. The new DoorDash benefits are up to $120 in credits ($60 in 2020 and $60 in 2021) and up to two years of a free DashPass membership (no delivery fees on orders over $12), which normally costs $9.99 per month.
