As if there weren’t enough reasons to visit Norway!

A new underwater restaurant is opening below the North Atlantic waters of Lindesnes, a quaint Norwegian municipality at the very bottom of the country.  And you can reserve a table right now!

Under Looks Like a Giant Concrete Storage Unit Pushed Into the Ocean

Underwater restaurants aren’t a new concept.  We’ve posted pictures of the dreamy Ithaa Undersea Restaurant at the Conrad Maldives when Emily visited years ago.

Now, opening in April 2019, Under will be both the world’s largest and Europe’s ONLY underwater restaurant.  Plans for the restaurant were announced last year, and construction lasted just 6 months.

According to Travel & Leisure, one of the structure’s architects says the most exciting time to visit will be during inclement weather.

It will be fantastic to see the sea surface broken up by the big waves and the rain, making for a very dramatic view — although you will still feel safe and relaxed inside the restaurant.

You Can Watch the Ocean Floor and all Its Vibrant Life During Your Meal

Getting to Norway is easy, too.  For example, you can fly one-way to Kristiansand, the nearest airport to this restaurant, for 30,000 United Airlines miles.  Or 25,000 Flying Blue Miles.  You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to these airlines if you’re low on miles.

We don’t know the price range of this restaurant yet, but it will probably be expensive as living frick.  So use a card like the Capital One® Savor® Cash Rewards Credit Card to get a big return on your dining purchases.
