If you’re planning a getaway this spring, JetBlue is having a 2-day fare sale!  One-way flights cost as little as ~$39.  But you must book by tomorrow, February 15, 2017.

Travel dates are March 1, 2017, to May 24, 2017.  There are blackout dates depending on the destination.

US and international flights are included.  And when JetBlue paid fares drop, award ticket prices go down, too!

Most flights cost more than $39.  But you can find some very cheap deals, like New York (JFK) to Daytona Beach for ~$104.  Or Chicago to Fort Lauderdale for ~$59.

The sale is valid for travel between March 1, 2017, and May 24, 2017.  Blackout dates are April 11 and 12, 2017 (all cities) and April 18 and 19, 2017, for the following destinations:

  • Boston
  • Burlington
  • Hartford
  • Portland, Maine
  • Providence
  • Worcester

Here are examples of the cheap flights you can book:

  • Long Beach to San Jose, California for $39 one-way
  • Washington, DC, to New York for $44 one-way
  • Baltimore to Orlando for $114 one-way
  • Boston to Nassau for $170 one-way

Check the JetBlue fare sale page for a full list.  Or use ITA Matrix or Google Flights to find cheap deals from your city.

Remember, the cost of a JetBlue award ticket depends on the paid fare.  So when prices drop, award flights are cheaper, too.

Sale Fares Mean Cheap Award Flights Too!

You can book your paid or award ticket directly on the JetBlue website.   Or book paid flights through a site like Orbitz or Expedia.

If you book a ticket with an online travel agency like OrbitzExpedia, or Priceline you may be eligible for a refund within a short time of booking your ticket.  Check out my post on cancellation policies for airlines and online travel agencies for more details.

JetBlue Tips

Folks with the JetBlue Plus Card or JetBlue Business Card from Barclaycard get a free first checked bag for themselves and up to 3 companions on the same reservation when they use their card to pay for their ticket.

Here’s my review of the Barclaycard JetBlue cards.

And you’ll have 24 hours to cancel a reservation if the flight is at least 7 days away.  So, you can take advantage of these cheap fares and finalize plans later.

Hotel Information

If you book a sale flight, remember there are lots of ways to get cheap or free hotel rooms with points from credit card bonuses and spending.

To find hotels that can be booked with points, I use Hotel Hustle (which even shows you if rooms are actually available!) or AwardMapper.

Remember, you can transfer flexible points like Chase Ultimate Rewards or American Express Membership Rewards to different hotel programs.

Note:  If you prefer to book paid stays, check out discount sites like Orbitz, Expedia, or TravelPony for deals.  But remember you won’t get stay credits or points (and might not have your elite status recognized!).

Airbnb is another terrific way to save money on accommodations, especially for longer stays.  Here are some tips on how to negotiate a better Airbnb price, and how to find a safe and comfortable Airbnb.
