Do you collect and use IHG points?  Here’s a chance to buy them for cheap!

Via Frequent Flyer Bonuses, you’ll get a 100% bonus when you buy 5,000+ IHG points through May 19, 2017.  This could save you even more than the Points & Cash trick!

I’ll tell you about this deal!

Buy IHG Points With a 100% Bonus

Until 11:59 pm on May 19, 2017, you’ll earn a 100% bonus when you buy 5,000+ IHG points.

Points must be purchased in 1,000-point increments, and there’s a limit of 60,000 purchased IHG points per calendar year.  Only online points purchases are eligible (NOT over the phone).

IHG normally sells points for 1.15 to 1.35 cents each.  Or if you’re comfortable with it, you can buy points for as little as 0.6 cents each with the IHG Points & Cash trick.

But with this promotion, you can pay even less, depending on how many points you buy.  Here’s what you’ll pay with this promotion:

  • 5,000 to 23,000 IHG points – ~0.625 cents each
  • 26,000 to 60,000 IHG points – ~0.575 cents each

So when you buy 26,000+ IHG points with the 100% bonus, you’ll get a better rate than using the Points & Cash trick. ($299 cash price / 52,000 IHG points).

Is This a Good Deal?

This is worthwhile if you need a few more IHG points to top-off your account for an award stay.  And it could save you lots if you would have booked at paid stay at normally expensive IHG hotels.

For example, a night at the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam can easily cost $500+or 50,000 IHG points.

With the 100% bonus, you could buy 100,000 IHG points for $575, enough for a 2-night stay!  And you’d save ~$425 off the cost of a 2-night paid stay ($1,000 cost of 2 paid nights – $575 cost of points for 2 award nights).

Or use fewer points and save big with IHG PointBreaks hotels, where you can get rooms for ~$29 per night if you purchase points with this deal.

Other Ways to Earn IHG Points

A quick way to earn IHG points is to sign-up for the Chase IHG card.  It currently comes with a sign-up bonus of 60,000 IHG points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.  Plus a $50 statement credit after your first purchase.

This is one of the few cards NOT restricted by Chase’s application rules.

We don’t earn a commission for this offer, but we’ll always tell you about the best deals. The information for this offer has been collected independently by Million Mile Secrets. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

You can also check out the current IHG Accelerate promotion, where you earn bonus points for completing different tasks, like staying at multiple brands, or booking a weekend stay.

Bottom Line

For a limited time, you can buy 5,000+ IHG points and earn a 100% bonus, up to a maximum of 60,000 purchased points per year.

The promotion lasts through May 19, 2017.  It’s a good deal for folks who need to top-off their account for an award.  Or for really expensive hotels with available award rooms!

IHG often has points + cash sales where the points are .5 cents.

Obviously there’s VERY aggressive marketing of IHG points, but they often have great value.

Redemptions are all over the board points-wise so that you can often find exceptional rewards.

Hi – if I buy, say 75K points through this promo, will I automatically become Spire Elite? Thx
