IHG is having a Kimpton promotion!  From October 18 to October 22, 2018, you can earn double elite qualifying points at participating Kimpton hotels!

While you have to book before October 22nd to get the deal, you can travel through February 2019.  So this is a great option regardless of whether you are looking for holiday travel options or looking ahead to travel for early next year.

In addition to bonus points, they are offering 30% off the Best Flexible Rate at Kimpton hotels!  And the double elite qualifying points is nice if you don’t already have Platinum Elite status just by having the IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card.

Kimpton Hotels’ Annual Sale + Double Elite Qualifying Points

Important terms & restrictions:

  • Reservations must be booked by October 22, 2018 to be eligible for the promotion rates and double points
  • Kimpton is offering 30% off the Best Flexible Rate
  • Earn double elite qualifying IHG points for all eligible stays
  • 7-day cancellation policy applies

Good deal or not:   This deal is interesting because they say they’re giving you 30% off the Best Flexible Rate, which isn’t the lowest standard rate.  Pre-paid rates look to be normally 20%+ lower than the Best Flexible Rate.  So if your plans are set in stone, and you were going to book the cheaper pre-paid, Advance Purchase rate, the savings won’t be mind blowing.

With the Best Flexible Rate you can typically cancel your booking 48 to 72 hrs before check-in without any penalty.  However with this promotion a 7-day cancellation applies.  So you’ll need to cancel at least 7 days prior to the start of your stay to avoid charges, which isn’t nearly as flexible as what I’d expect if I’m paying extra for a Best Flexible Rate.

Unfortunately, you do need to poke around a bit to find deals as they vary based on location and travel dates.  If you’ve been wanting to try out a Kimpton, this is a nice little offer that makes it a bit more enticing to give the brand a go!
