IHG is celebrating Cyber Monday all week long!  And while there aren’t any jaw-dropping deals, lots of folks could use the lower prices for holiday travel and beyond.

Some of the deals are:

All deals are for participating hotels only, so check the prices of your desired hotel before making other plans.

Here are recommendations for great IHG hotels in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean, and Central and South America!

Discounted Points & Cash Reservations

Deals We Like points out that one of the most interesting Cyber Monday sales is the discount on Points & Cash reservations on stays until January 31, 2017.

You will get a 10% discount on the cash portion of your Points & Cash booking (15% if you have the Chase IHG card!).  IHG ran a similar promotion back in July.  This is a good opportunity for folks to buy IHG points at a discount (even less than the current 100% bonus on IHG points!).

IHG normally sells points for 1.15 to 1.35 cents each.  And you can buy points for as little as 0.6 cents each with the IHG Points & Cash trick.  But if you use this promotion AND the Points & Cash trick, you’ll pay even less for your IHG points!  You can buy IHG points for just 0.59 cents per point.

You can stay at a participating IHG PointBreaks hotels for just 5,000 points per night.  So buying points through the Points & Cash trick is like paying ~$30 per night!

Stay at an IHG PointBreaks Hotel, Like the Holiday Inn Bonham, Texas, for ~$30 per Night When You Use the IHG Points & Cash Trick to Buy Points!

For example, you can book a room with Points & Cash at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites : Portland-Nw Downtown for 15,000 IHG points plus ~$89 (with the Cyber Monday discount) as long as you are an IHG Rewards member.  This room regularly costs 30,000 IHG points.

Using the Points & Cash Trick, you’re essentially buying 15,000 IHG points (30,000 – 15,000 IHG points) for ~$89, or ~0.59 cents per point (~$89 / 15,000 points = ~0.59 cents per point).  And you’ll save even more if you have the Chase IHG card.

Buying 14,000 points through IHG’s current 100% bonus sale would cost ~$95.  That’s 0.68 cents per point (~$95 / 14,000 points = ~0.68 cents per point).

This is an excellent way to buy points at a discount.

There are also plenty of ways to earn IHG points, like:

Bottom Line

Much is made of the vaunted points break program of IHG but they’ve stripped it down from a few years back by allowing only 2 nights per location and less hotels offered and because it’s so popular the best locations get scooped up in minutes.

Million Mile Secrets

I hear your frustration that folks book hotels as soon as the booking window opens which makes it hard to find hotels later on!
