Via One Mile at a Time, Hyatt is making a few changes to its award chart.  And it’s mostly bad news.

Nine hotels are changing categories at 12:01 am Central Time on December 13, 2017.  And nearly all of them increase in price.

Hyatt is my favorite hotel chain, because I think they have a great balance between value and comfort.  So it’s always a bummer to see award chart changes!

On December 13, 2017, at 12:01 am Central Time, 8 Hyatt hotels will increase in price, and 1 hotel will decrease.  Here’s what you can expect.

So, you should book as soon as possible if you plan to stay at most of these hotels.

I love to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt for free hotel stays.

Remember, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt to top-off your account for an award stay if you have the Chase Sapphire ReserveChase Sapphire Preferred CardInk Business Preferred Credit Card, or (no longer offered) Ink Bold card or Ink Plus card.

And if you have one of the cards listed above, you can indirectly transfer points earned from the Chase FreedomChase Freedom Unlimited, and Ink Business Cash Credit Card, too!

Or, you can sign-up for the improved Chase Hyatt card offer, which comes with 40,000 bonus points after meeting minimum spending requirements.  Plus a $50 statement credit after your first purchase!

Bottom Line

Hyatt is increasing the award price of 8 hotels, and decreasing the award price of 1 hotel.  This change hopefully won’t affect too many of y’all.  But it’s important to stay on top of these changes so you aren’t surprised later!

Does this impact your upcoming travel?
