AARP Discount on British Airways Flights Extended
Link: Join AARP
AARP members can save $65 to $400 per round-trip British Airways flights starting in the US.
The amount you save depends on the ticket you buy:
- $65 off Economy
- $130 off Premium Economy
- $400 off Business Class and First Class
Business Class flights are expensive, usually ~ $5,000. But sometimes there are cheaper Business Class flights because of fare wars or sale, like the ~$2,070 Business Class tickets from the West Coast to London or Paris.
So you could use your AARP to save an additional $400 on an already discounted Business Class ticket. In this example, you’d pay ~$1,670 for a Business Class ticket from San Jose.
To get the discount, you have to:
- Fly round-trip from the US (1-ways and open jaws do NOT get the discount)
- Fly on British Airways or codeshared American Airlines and Iberia flights
- Fly by March 31, 2016
- Book through the AARP link
- Book by October 31, 2015
If you’re flying with a partner or friend, only 1 person needs to have an AARP membership. But, the AARP member has to travel to get the discount.
British Airways has also extended the 10% discount on flights for British Airways cardholders to December 31, 2015.
You can combine the AARP discount and the 10% discount!
However, while the AARP discount is valid on all British Airways flights, including codeshare flights, the 10% discount for British Airways cardholders is only valid for travel on British Airways.
So if you want to combine both discounts, only pick flights on British Airways.
AARP membership costs $16 a year. The organization is intended for folks ages 50+ but it turns out, anyone can join!
