Love eating delicious food like I do?  Million Mile Secrets reader Jeff let us know about a deal from Hilton, where you can earn up to 2,000 bonus Hilton points for joining the Hilton Honors Dining program.

Hilton Points For Restaurants
Earn Bonus Hilton Points When You Register for Hilton’s Dining Program by March 31, 2017. There Are Over 11,000 Participating Restaurants, Bars, and Clubs in the US!

I’ll explain the details of this offer.  And help you decide whether it makes sense for you.

New Hilton Honors Dining members can earn up to 2,000 bonus Hilton points when you register by March 31, 2017, and agree to receive emails from the program.

You’ll get 1,000 bonus Hilton points after your first visit to a participating restaurant, bar, or club, when you spend at least $30 with your registered card and complete a short review.

The more times you dine, the more bonus points you’ll earn.  To pocket the full bonus, you’ll have to spend at least $30 at 3 different participating locations within the first 30 days of joining.  And you’ll have 30 days after your visit to complete the review.

Hilton Points For Restaurants
Dine 3 Separate Times, Spend at Least $30 During Each Visit, and Complete the Post-Dine Surveys, to Earn Bonus Hilton Points!

The bonus points should post to your account within 4 to 6 weeks of completing your post-dine survey.

Is It Worth It?

Although 2,000 Hilton points isn’t enough for a free night, this could be a good way to extend the life of your Hilton points for 12 months.  Because Hilton points expire within 12 months if you don’t have any activity on your account.

Or this could be an easy way to top-off your account for an upcoming award stay.

For example, Category 1 Hilton hotels cost 5,000 Hilton points per night.  So earning 2,000 Hilton points for dining out gets you nearly half way to a free night.

That said, this isn’t as easy as earning the free Hilton points I wrote about a few weeks ago.

And I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to take advantage of this deal.  But if you dine out a lot and want to try the participating restaurants, it could be worth signing-up!

Using the Right Card Is the Cherry on Top of Your Dessert!

Don’t forget to register and use a card that earns bonus points on dining out!

Examples include Chase Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, Ink Business Cash Credit Card, or the AMEX Hilton Surpass card.

Bottom Line

Through March 31, 2017, new members to the Hilton Honors Dining program can earn up to 2,000 bonus Hilton points.

You’ll collect 1,000 bonus Hilton points after your first visit to a participating restaurant when you spend at least $30 with your registered card and fill out a quick review.

To earn the full 2,00 Hilton points, spend at least $30 at 3 different participating restaurants within 30 days of registering.  And write a review of each one within 30 days of your visit.

This isn’t the easiest way to earn free Hilton points, but it could make sense for some folks.  Especially if you’re looking for a way to keep your Hilton points from expiring.
