Until October 21, 2016, you can earn up to a 100% bonus when you buy Hilton points.

This can be a good deal if you use the Hilton points for an otherwise expensive stay.  Or need extra points to top-off your account for an award!

With this deal, you’ll have to buy a minimum of 20,000 Hilton points ($200) to get the 100% bonus.

Hilton Points 100 Bonus
You Can Buy Hilton Points With This Promotion to Stay at Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui!

I’ll explain more about the deal!

Hilton Points 100% Bonus

Link:   100% Bonus on Hilton Points Purchases

Through October 21, 2016, folks can earn up to a 100% bonus on Hilton points purchases.

There are 2 bonus tiers for this deal:

  • 80% bonus when you buy 10,000 to 19,000 Hilton points
  • 100% bonus when you buy 20,000 to 80,000 Hilton points

Normally, Hilton sells points for 1 cent each, in 1,000 point increments.  So 1,000 Hilton points usually costs $10.

With this deal, you can buy Hilton points for 0.5 cents each when you buy more than 20,000 pointsSo you’ll pay $200 and get 40,000 Hilton points!

You can buy a maximum of 80,000 Hilton points per calendar year (before any bonuses are applied).

So the most you can buy is 80,000 Hilton points for $800.  But you’ll get another 80,000 Hilton point bonus, for a total of 160,000 Hilton points.

Should You Buy Points?

I always recommend doing the math to see if buying points makes sense.

For example, you can pay $700 for 70,000 Hilton points and 70,000 bonus Hilton points, or 140,000 Hilton points total.

You can redeem 140,000 Hilton points for 2 free nights at the Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui.  If the same 2 nights cost more than $700 total, then buying and using points would save you money.

But available award nights at certain hotels can be limited!  So be sure to check the award calendar before buying points if you have an upcoming stay in mind.

There are lots of ways to earn Hilton points from credit card sign-up bonuses and spending!

You can get them directly from limited-time offers like the Citi Hilton Visa 75,000 point offer or the AMEX Hilton card offers.

Or earn them indirectly by transferring points from American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, Virgin Atlantic, or Hawaiian Airlines.

And remember to register for Hilton promotions!  You can currently earn 3X Hilton points on paid stays when you book thorugh the mobile app!

Bottom Line

Until October 21, 2016, you can earn a 100% bonus on Hilton points purchases when you buy 20,000 points or more.

I recommend doing the math to see if the promotion makes sense for you.  Purchasing points for an award stay could potentially save you money compared to the actual cost of a room night.

They let me buy 160,00 points (for a total of 320,000 after the bonus). Thought you’d like to know.

Would this be travel expense if I use Chase reserved?

Million Mile Secrets

@Julian – The transaction is from so no bonus points for using the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

at Mike L , its a timeshare deal but still very good offer. take it

I’m not sure where to put this but I just got an offer from Starwood for 6 days, 5 nights at the Westin Princeville (HI) Ocean Resort Villas, a $75 resort credit and a 6 day Avis rental certificate for a total of $798. This seems like a phenomenal deal, I’m not sure how targeted it is though, mine has an invitation number on it.
