Happy New Year to everyone!
Emily and I were in India and Thailand for the last few weeks and have lots of adventures to share.
Here’s wishing you and your family a healthy & happy 2012 filled with lots of Big Travel with Small Money! Thanks to everyone for reading and sharing your secrets on how to earn more miles and points.
We redeemed 160,000 US Air miles for a First Class trip which included trips on the new Lufthansa First Class with our own private beds, the new United First Class with brand new seats, a trip on Thai Airways First Class including a visit to the Thai Airways First Class lounge and Spa in Bangkok, and a trip on Swiss Business class.
In India, we had a very small wedding with only family and then left for a 1 week visit to Thailand.
We also lost 1 of our bags, had an aborted speed boat ride to the Phi Phi islands, but managed to catch the last ferry and wade through waist deep water at night to get a longtail boat to our hotel.
And in Bangkok, Emily fell very ill and had a fever of 104F, but we managed to make it back to the US. She was on a wheelchair because she was too weak to walk, but we cleared security, customs, and immigration much quicker than anyone else.
But in all, we had a wonderful trip and can’t wait to visit Thailand again!
To start off 2012, I’d like to give away:
1) A model of the Lufthansa A380-800 airplane
2) A bottle opener from India
3) A keychain from Thailand
I actually wanted to give away model planes from the other airlines which I flew, but none of them sold them.
So you’ll have to do with the kitschy bottle opener and key chain instead!
And I’ll pick 3 random winners!
