If you’re a frequent traveler like me, you understand the frustration of going through airport security.  Removing your shoes and taking out laptops is a pain.  Not to mention the super long lines!  The past several years though, I haven’t had to go through traditional security thanks to the best travel credit cards that include up to a $100 application fee credit for TSA PreCheck and Global Entry!

TSA PreCheck costs $85 for a 5-year membership, and Global Entry costs $100 for a 5-year membership.  But there are credit cards that will reimburse you for the cost of the application fee!  We spent hours researching credit cards and have compiled the 3 best travel credit cards that include TSA PreCheck and Global Entry application fee reimbursements.

  1.    Chase Sapphire Reserve®
  2.    Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card
  3.    The Platinum Card® from American Express

1.   Chase Sapphire Reserve®

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® continues to be my favorite travel rewards credit card.  I have this credit card and already had TSA PreCheck, so I gifted the TSA PreCheck/Global Entry credit to my cousin.  I use this credit card mainly when I travel and when I go out to eat.  That’s because I earn 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1 spent in those categories.  You’ll also receive up to a $300 statement credit for travel purchases each account anniversary year (including hotels, airfare, car rental, etc.).  This really helps “erase” the $450 annual fee.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points can add up more quickly than you might think.  For example, for the year to date in 2018, I’ve earned ~24,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points just from dining alone!  Earning these points is why I keep the credit card and gladly pay the annual fee.

The Platinum Card® from American Express is one of our favorite cards for frequent travelers.  You can earn 5X points for flights booked directly with airlines or with American Express Travel, and 5X points on eligible hotels booked on amextravel.com.  The American Express Platinum also includes up to $200 annual Uber credit, and up to a $200 annual airline fee credit.

Because there are so many benefits with this credit card, it makes it in the top 3 credit cards that include up to a $100 application fee credit for TSA PreCheck and Global Entry!

i got the amex platinum and have 3 authorized users under this card but they have gold as authorized users so i didnt have to pay the fee for platinum. even with them having gold cards, each of our 4 cards reimburse for global entry!

Hey, Emily. Thanks for the great site and daily emails. I have never had a Capital One card and was highly considering applying for the Venture card now that the bonus has bumped up to 75k. I have read in multiple places about Capital One being very selective in their approvals. I have great credit (800+) and low utilization, which Capital One doesn’t seem to care much about. Do you have any tips/suggestions? Apply??? Pass??? Thanks in advance – I value your opinion.

Hi Robbie, Thanks for commenting! It doesn’t sound to me that you’ll have trouble applying and getting approved. Try doing as much research online as you can before applying (which it seems like you’re already doing!) Do you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve? I prefer the benefits over the Capital One credit cards, but do what makes sense for you. Good luck!
