Per this thread in Fat Wallet, Credit Karma is offering free credit monitoring. This is different from the regular “free” version of Credit Karma, since this version includes email updates when your credit score changes and more detailed information on your credit score.

The product is being beta tested and only 3,665 free enrollments (out of 5,000) were left when I signed-up.

I just upgraded my existing Credit Karma account to the enhanced version using the link in the Fat Wallet post!

Credit Karma pulls information from your Trans Union credit report.

Update: Here’s a link that is active as of 6:54 pm with ~2,300 free enrollments left.

It’s very trouble-free to find out any matter on web as compared to books, as I found this post at this web page.

You also have the right to know what is in your file at any of the three major credit reporting agencies. Since September 2005 all consumers will be entitled to one free disclosure every 12 months upon request from each nationwide credit bureau and from nationwide specialty consumer reporting agencies. See for additional information.

@Kalboz – You’re right – consumers can request their report once every 12 months and every time there has been “adverse action” b/c of information in a consumer credit report. I wrote more about it here!

I upgraded my account and there were 751 left on that second link for fatwallet users.

Million Mile Secrets

@Larry – Thanks for the update! There are about 620 uses left know, so it may last for another day or so.

Hi Darius,s

Just was on the site and was able to get free accounts still for my husband and I.

Site says it still has 1,372 left.

Good tips on the site too on credit scoring etc.

Thank you!

Million Mile Secrets

@Solomon – The scores may vary because the scale used is different and also because you may have more inquiries with one credit reporting agency! They can vary by a lot.

@Vishal – I would call Chase and ask them to reconsider your application. Offer to reduce credit on your other lines to help facilitate the conversation. I don’t know if freezing a credit report will help, but you may want to search for that at credit boards!

@DKAS & @Harold – Glad you found it helpful!

@Kamancali – I suggest reading credit boards to learn about freezing credit reports. They also have a “credit pulls” database which has a list of which banks pull from which agency sorted by state.

It is not 100% accurate, but should give you a good indication. So where are you going with all your points? 🙂

@Mary – Strange how the first lot of free accounts disappeared so fast, but the second lot still has ~1200 free accounts left!

Hi Daraius – same q as Vishal- can you enlighten us here about freezing some credit reports? I got 8 hits on experian but 1x on transunion! Is there guidance on what big banks pull from which credit reporting service? Any comments would be great, a blog post would be awesome! Thanks! Fyi bc of you and the points guy I’m living the sapphire/platinum/2xAA 350k dream now!
