You get the 2 day weekend car rental by signing-up for the Avis First program with your World Elite Mastercard. Here are 3 examples:
- Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard
- Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite Mastercard
- Barclaycard Hawaiian Airlines World Elite MasterCard
But you can NOT sign-up for Avis First unless you’re already a US or Canadian member of Avis Preferred. You can sign-up for Avis Preferred here.
The Avis First program is intended for frequent Avis customers and isn’t open to everyone.
According to the Avis First terms, to be eligible you
…must complete 12 or more qualifying Rentals or a cumulative total of 35 or more qualifying Rental days in a calendar year on one Wizard number. All rentals must be checked out and checked in within the same calendar year to qualify.
That said, it doesn’t hurt to try anyway!
Check your email (and spam folder) for your Avis First welcome email and activate your account. Then your weekend rental coupon should be emailed to you within 2 weeks.
You’ll pay taxes and fees on your rental car but you’ll still save money!
