Increased 60,000 Mile Sign-Up Bonus With Citi American Airlines Credit Cards Ends Tomorrow
With either card, you’ll earn 60,000 American Airlines miles after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. I’ve never seen a higher sign-up bonus for these cards! So if you’re thinking about applying, this is a great time.
In addition to the sign-up bonus, you’ll also get perks like:
- 2X American Airlines miles per $1 spent on American Airlines flights
- First bag checked free for you and up to 4 traveling companions on domestic itineraries
- Group 5 Boarding (first to board after disabled, military, and elite flyers)
- Earn back 10% of miles used for award travel, up to 10,000 miles each calendar year
Team member Jasmin just opened the CitiBusiness American Airlines card. She already has the personal version, as well as the Barclaycard Aviator Red. And the small business version of the card will NOT count against the Chase 5/24 rule.
However, Citi will NOT let you to earn the sign-up bonus from more than one personal card of the same “brand” within 24 months. For example, if you’ve opened or closed the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard® in the past 24 months, you can NOT earn the sign-up bonus from the Citi American Airlines Platinum Select sign-up bonus.
There IS an exception if you’ve had the CitiBusiness American Airlines Platinum Select in the past 24 months, though. You can earn the sign-up bonus on the personal card. Citi says:
- American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have had any Citi® / AAdvantage® card (other than a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card) opened or closed in the past 24 months.
This is your last chance to earn the higher sign-up bonus on the Citi American Airlines Platinum Select personal and small business cards. You’ll earn 60,000 American Airlines miles after completing minimum spending requirements.
We don’t earn a commission for these cards, but we’ll always let you know about the best deals!
