Earn the Southwest Companion Pass With Fewer Flights
Usually, you need to fly 100 one-way flights (within a calendar year) on Southwest to qualify for the Companion Pass. Or earn 110,000 Southwest points in a calendar year.
But with this targeted offer, you only have to fly 10 one-way (5 round-trip) flights before October 31, 2016, to earn the pass.
And the Companion Pass will be valid through the end of 2017! That’s pretty amazing!
So check your email, spam folder, and the promotions section of your Southwest account online, to see if you’ve been targeted.
It might even be worth taking a few inexpensive Southwest flights if you qualify for this deal. Because the Companion Pass can save you thousands of dollars!
What If You Weren’t Targeted?
You can still earn the Companion Pass without having to take a lot of Southwest flights.
In fact, it’s a great time to earn the Southwest Companion Pass right now, because all 3 Southwest cards are offering 50,000 point sign-up bonuses. And applying for these cards is the easiest way to earn the Companion Pass without flying Southwest.
If you apply for 1 Southwest personal card and 1 Southwest business card, you’ll earn 104,000 Southwest points (including points from minimum spending). And it’s easy to earn the extra 6,000 points to reach the 110,000 points required for the Companion Pass.
But don’t forget about Chase’s stricter approval rules. And remember to avoid these 3 common mistakes when you’re working towards the Companion Pass.
