With Starwood’s new “More for You” Promotion, you can earn 2X to 3X points when you stay at participating Starwood hotels between September 15, 2014, and December 15, 2014.
How to Earn 2X to 3X Starwood PointsRegister by October 31, 2014, and you will earn 2X points per dollar spent on Starwood hotel stays of 2 or more nights. You can earn 3X points per dollar spent when your 2 or more nights include a Friday or Saturday night (Thursday or Friday in many Middle East locations).
There is NO limit to the number of bonus points you can earn with this promotion. You should receive your Starwood points within 2 to 4 weeks after your qualifying stay posts.
And if you use the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express to pay for your stay, you will earn 2X points per dollar spent on your stay!
Why This Isn’t Very Good!
You will only earn bonus points from this promotion at participating Starwood hotels, and the list of excluded hotels includes many popular destinations. I really don’t like it when LOTS of hotels are EXCLUDED from the list!
Other important restrictions:
- Stays booked through 3rd party sites such as Expedia do NOT qualify
- Award stays do NOT qualify, including Free Night Awards and Cash & Points
Ways to Use Starwood Points
Many folks value Starwood points very highly. That’s because you can get a lot of value from mid to low tier hotels like the Le Meridien St. Julian’s Spa and Hotel in Malta.
Additonally, Starwood has some amazing top-tier hotels that might be worth the splurge, if you have a LOT of Starwood points.
You can also transfer points to many different airlines. Transferring Starwood points to airlines is a good option because you will earn 5,000 bonus points for every 20,000 points you transfer.
Register for Starwood’s “More for You” promotion by October 31, 2014, and you will earn up to 3X points per dollar spent when on stays 2 nights or more.
It’s always nice to see a promotion from Starwood because there aren’t many ways to earn Starwood hotel points. Starwood has many nice hotels and there are lots of options for using Starwood points.
However, only participating hotels qualify and a lot of hotels are excluded. I don’t like this part of the promotion!
