If you want to stay on top of Delta award sales, like this one, subscribe to our daily newsletter.

Once Delta ditched their award chart some of their award prices skyrocketed.  Now international Delta One awards can easily cost hundreds of thousands for a round-trip ticket.  So this sale to Japan is exceptional.

Right now there are select dates from the US to Japan round-trip in Delta One (Business Class) for 120,000 miles!

If you don’t have enough miles you can transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points instantly at a 1:1 ratio.  And if you have an AMEX Delta credit card, you might be able to borrow the miles you need to book the award.

But if you don’t have any options for quickly getting Delta miles and you’re tired of missing out on these deals, here’s what you can do to ensure you’ve got the miles you need for next time.

You’ll Be Knee Deep in Japanese Culture in No Time With This Delta Sale

Max, from The Points Guy, has uncovered a slew of deals to Japan in Delta One suites with nonstop or one-stop itineraries for 120,000 Delta miles.  And there are also some deals for only 90,000 Delta miles, but they are mixed-cabin awards, which means you wouldn’t be flying in Delta’s Business Class for the entire journey.

Travel dates for these flights extend through July 2019.  You can find deals to Tokyo from:

  • Atlanta
  • Chicago
  • Dallas
  • Los Angeles
  • New York
  • Minneapolis
  • Seattle
  • Washington

Japan is one of the best countries in the world to visit, I’ve been to very few places that are as clean, safe, and fun as Japan.  So if you’re flexible with your travel dates and can find a deal that fits your schedule I wouldn’t hesitate to book one of these flights.

Search for the deals on Delta’s website, choose the “5 weeks” option under “Calendar View” to see the most options at once.

If you need more Delta miles, you can them with any of these cards:

But currently these Delta card offers aren’t as high as they have been in the past, so you could earn AMEX Membership Rewards points, which transfer to Delta at a 1:1 ratio from these cards:

You won’t be able to earn the intro bonuses from any of these cards in time to take advantage of these sales, but you can prepare yourself for the next one.
