Daily Getaways is sponsored by American Express along with the US Travel Association.  You can buy discounted hotel points and travel packages within the United States.  And in addition to the low prices, you get a 10% extra discount for using an American Express card.

The Daily Getaways website will have a new deal every week day at 1:00 pm Eastern Time staring from  June 10, 2013 – tomorrow! – up to July 12, 2013.

You have to be quick to get in on these deals because they sell out within minutes.

The first two weeks of deals from June 10 to June 14, 2013 and from June 17 to June 21, 2013 are live on the Daily Getaways website.

For the first week, the only good deals look like the Marriott hotel gift cards which you can get for a 10% discount or 20% if you pay with an American Express card, and the Harrah’s Las Vegas offers.

Though you could save a few dollars with the CityPass and SeaWorld or Busch Garden passes.

The Marriott gift cards are a good deal:

  • $100 Gift Card for $89 ($80.10 with an American Express card)
  • $500 Gift Card for $445 ($400.50 with an American Express card)
  • $1,000 Gift Card for $890 ($801 with an American Express card)

And while it may not sound like a good deal, the Harrah’s Las Vegas option is a good deal when you consider everything that is included (though it isn’t a good deal if you wouldn’t otherwise buy everything that is included in the deal.)

Through their offer, a 2-night stay is only $330, or $297 with an American Express card.

Here’s the list of offers for the second week.

Daily Getaways Week of June 17 Through June 21, 2013 The only good deal in the second week are 2 nights at an Omni hotel for $180 and the ability to purchase Club Carlson points at a discount.

The Omni Austin Hotel at South park The Omni Majestic Hotel The Omni Charlotte Hotel The Omni Charlottesville Hotel The Omni Houston Hotel at Westside The Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale The Omni Jacksonville Hotel The Omni Severin Hotel The Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West The Omni Corpus Christi Hotel The Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade

While the offer is only for two consecutive nights in a standard room, this is a very good deal if you will be traveling to one of these cities.

Finally, Club Carlson is selling their hotel points for ~0.4 cents per point (instead of the regular rate of ~0.7 cents per point), via these two offers:

  • 50,000 points for $194 ($174.60 with an American Express)
  • 100,000 points for $385 ($346.50 with an American Express)

The Club Carlson brand includes Country Inns and Suites, Radisson, Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson,  and Park Plaza hotels,  and their hotel award chart runs from 9,000 to 50,000 points per night.

You also get 1 extra night for free if you have the Club Carlson credit card and redeem points for a hotel stay of 2 or more consecutive nights.

Some of the Daily Getaways over the next two weeks are good deals, but you’ve got to act quick because they get sold out within a few minutes!  And don’t forget to use an American Express card for an extra 10% off.

Also make sure to do the math to see if taking part in the Daily Getaway makes sense for you.  Just because something is discounted doesn’t mean that it is worth buying!
