Update:   This offer is no longer available.  Check our Hot Deals for the latest offers.

1.   Southwest Premier Credit Card.   Thanks to folks in the comments for letting me know that the Southwest Airlines websites shows that the Southwest Premier credit card is now also offering a 50,000 point sign-up bonus after spending $2,000 within 3 months!

This means that all 4 Southwest credit cards currently offer 50,000 points after spending $2,000 within 3 months, so this is a great way to get the Southwest Companion Pass.

As always, I’ve updated the Airline Credit Card tab with links to the 50,000 point offer.  I’ll be traveling for the entire day, but will write more later.

It’s fantastic that you are getting thoughts from this post

as well as from our dialogue made at this time.

Actually, would just like to point out that the Premier and Business Premier offer at 50000 is still available.

Just confirmed on the phone using this website:

First off, saw you speak in Tampa. Thanks for repeating every audience question for those of us who may have been in the back and couldnt hear. On to my question. Currently have Premier and Companion Pass until end of 2014. Would proper strategy be to wait until next year around October, apply for Plus (if offer is good) and work my way back to CP for 2015/2016?

WHAT?! Seriousleigh?! I read in the fine print that each RR# can only get the sign-up bonus one time. Is that not the case? I *just* heard today in the other forum I posted in that someone did just that. I’d really prefer not to change my RR# if I don’t have to, so I hope that’s not the case.

Curious about your suggestion, too: is the timing of the cancel at my own pace? Or do I need to apply for the Premier and cancel the Plus in one swing? My preference would be to apply for the Premier, share the RR#, get the bonus, then cancel the Plus.

Question for Daraius (not sure if this went through the first time on another post–I couldn’t find it. Sorry if I reposted): I have a Plus card. I want a Premier card. But I’d really like to get a bonus for upgrading (as this person got: Should I just wait for Southwest to approach me (hoping it does) or should I just call and upgrade and forget about the bonus?

@Leigh – You can apply for the Premier card and then cancel the Plus card to get approved. That way you get the sign-up bonus and the perks of the Premier card.
