Via One Mile at a Time, Alaska Air has an offer for 25,000 Alaska Air Mileage Plan miles (after 1st purchase), plus a $100 statement credit after spending $1,000 within 3 months. The regular offer is for 25,000 miles after your 1st purchase, but you don’t get the $100 statement credit.
You have to purchase a flight to get the offer for 25,000 miles plus the $100 statement credit, but here’s a direct link to application page. If you do apply, please take lots of screen shots. A reader didn’t get the $100 statement the last time this was available, so as always, your miles may vary.
Alaska Airlines allows you 24 hours to cancel a reservation, free of charge, but I wouldn’t book a dummy reservation just to get access to the offer.
To see the offer, go to Alaska Airlines’ webpage. Enter an origin, destination, and date and search for a flight. Once you have chosen your flights on the next page, start checking-out.
After checking-out, you will see the offer mentioned about half-way down the page.
Enter your personal and payment information, and the offer will appear again near the bottom of the checkout page:
After you have successfully booked a reservation, you will see the link to the offer.
Alaska Air MileagePlan miles are quite valuable because you can redeem them for award travel on their Partner Airlines, including British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates and Qantas.
Here’s the Alaska Air partner award chart.
Bottom Line
The Alaska Air card is issued by Bank of America, so this could be useful if you’ve got lots of miles and points cards from other banks. Folks also report being able to get Bank of America credit cards more than once, but as always, your experience could be different.
