The holiday season is a great time to be a miles & points collector because just about every bank and retailer is fighting to earn your spending.

Citi has been sending out targeted emails to cardholders to earn 5X Citi ThankYou points on select purchases through January 31, 2019.  The offer has been sent to select folks with cards that earn ThankYou points, like the Citi Premier℠ Card.

You can earn a maximum of 2,500 bonus ThankYou points with this deal, but the bonus is limited to certain categories.  Here’s what you need to know.

You can earn the 5X ThankYou points for purchases made at:

The terms specifically exclude spending at discount stores, supercenters, and warehouses.  So places like Costco and Sam’s club won’t qualify.

But if you’ve got the Citi Prestige card or Citi Premier℠ Card, be sure to check your inbox and spam folder for the offer.  If you’re targeted, there should be a link in the email you can use to enroll.

Citi ThankYou points are great for transferring to partners like Virgin Atlantic for booking ANA First Class awards to Asia, or Avianca for booking Star Alliance award flights with no fuel surcharges.  And sometimes you can use them for other deals, like discounts on Amazon purchases.

If you were targeted for any other similar deals, please let me know in the comments.
