Want more Hyatt points? I’ve got good news! Via One Mile at a Time, Hyatt is offering targeted bonuses on points purchases through July 31, 2016.
Folks have reported getting up to a 40% bonus, so it’s worth checking to see what kind of bonus you’ve been targeted for! Because buying points, especially when there’s a bonus involved, can make sense in certain situations.
I’ll show you where to check for your targeted offer. And help you decide if you should buy points with the deal.
Hyatt Buy Points Promotion
Through July 31, 2016, you can earn a bonus on Hyatt points purchases. But you’ll need to enter your name and Hyatt Gold Passport number here to see what bonus you’ve been targeted for.
A friend of mine was targeted for a 40% bonus on a purchase of 5,000+ points.
Is This a Good Deal?
Depending on your bonus and where you plan to use your points, this could be a good deal!
Hyatt normally sells points for 2.4 cents each. And with a 40% bonus, for example, you’ll pay only ~1.7 cents per Hyatt point.
Just remember, points must be purchased in increments of 1,000. And you are limited to purchasing 55,000 Hyatt points per calendar year.
Here’s an Example
Say you want to splurge and spend a weekend at the luxurious Park Hyatt Paris – Vendome. I found nights in September 2016 for ~$787 or 30,000 Hyatt points per night.
Two nights would cost ~$1,574 or 60,000 Hyatt points.
Using this deal, you could spend $1,032 for 43,000 Hyatt points and 17,200 bonus Hyatt points (assuming a 40% bonus), and have enough Hyatt points for a 2-night stay.
So you’d be saving ~$542 ($1,574 – $1,032) off the paid price.
Do the math to see if it makes sense to take advantage of this (or any!) promotion. Because the lower your bonus, the less likely it is to be worth it. Unless you absolutely need a few extra Hyatt points for an upcoming stay.
