The Chase Ultimate Rewards program is by far my favorite travel rewards program.  Earning Chase points is relatively easy, and so is redeeming them.  I’m a huge fan of the Chase Ultimate Rewards website, and I’ve used many features of the website in the last year (my favorites are transferring points and shopping through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Shopping portal!)  I would love if Chase could take it a step further and develop a dedicated Chase Ultimate Rewards app.  I’ll explain what I mean.

Chase Should Design a Dedicated App for the Chase Ultimate Rewards Portal

The Current Chase App

Chase has an app, but you have to log into your Chase account, scroll, and click around to access the Chase Ultimate Rewards section.  Sometimes I don’t want to log into the Chase app because of public wifi and accessing my bank and credit card accounts.

I’d love it if there was a separate app just for accessing the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal.  Then, I can access my account wherever I am, and not have to worry about sensitive financial information and the hassle of extra clicking and scrolling to access the Ultimate Rewards portal.

The Chase Ultimate Rewards Portal Is So Easy To Use

Chase Ultimate Rewards App Features

To me, the main features of a dedicated Chase Ultimate Rewards app would include:

  • Earn Bonus Points
  • Transfer to Travel Partners
  • Book Travel
  • Rewards Activity
  • Trips Booked

Chase Ultimate Rewards App – Earn Bonus Points

One of my favorite ways to earn lots of Chase Ultimate Rewards points is by shopping on the Chase shopping portal.  I do most of the purchasing for my family, and whenever we have to buy things, whether it’s a new computer, gifts for family & friends, or a new stroller for my baby girl, I always check the Chase Ultimate Rewards shopping portal to see if I can earn bonus points!

Points can add up faster than you think.  For example, I recently purchased a stroller and earned half the Chase points needed for a one-way flight!

I’d love if Chase made it easier to quickly browse the points per $1 spent and then to quickly and easily complete the purchase over the phone!  I’d also love to set up alerts for some of my favorite retailers.  For example, I’ve been holding off on a big Apple purchase because I’m hoping to get more than the current 2X points per $1 spend.

Chase Ultimate Rewards App – Transfer to Travel Partners

Transferring to travel partners is another one of my most used features in the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal.  I frequently transfer points to Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Hyatt hotels.

Chase Ultimate Rewards App – Book Travel

I don’t book travel very often through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal, but there are some great deals to be found.  It would be awesome if I could quickly browse different hotels and their points prices, and even book those hotels with points with my phone!

Chase Ultimate Rewards App – Rewards Activity

You need to be able to see your points balance to know what you can afford to redeem (or transfer).  The Rewards Activity on the Chase Ultimate Rewards website shows you your current points, what you’ll be earning on your next statement, the year to date total, and the rewards breakdown.  It was interesting for me to see that I had earned 23,000 points year to date on dining purchases alone!

Chase Ultimate Rewards App – Trips Booked

If you do end up booking trips through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal, it would be nice to have a list of your upcoming trips, and the ability to export those trips to your calendar.

I am really annoyed that when trying to redeem points for hotels, the pricing displayed does not reflect the actual cost when travelling with more than 2 people, though i selected 2 adults and 2 kids. Always had to select the hotel and room to get final pricing and see the extra person fees for all inclusive resorts.

Try booking for 1-2 adults and no kids. I find that in some search engines, adding kids throws off the availability. This is even the case where you’re within the maximum occupancy of the room.

One word – VPN. Or maybe that’s 3. But you get the gist. Always use a VPN from a trusted provider when traveling and accessing public WiFi. In fact, you should be on VPN anywhere not your home network.

Yes, that would be the most secure! Thanks for the reminder.
