There’s good news for folks looking to travel to Hawaii.
Via Milecards, you will again be able to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air in January 2015.
I’ve written before about how you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air. But for the last couple of months, Korean Air has been missing from the Chase website.
However, according to Korean Air, in January 2015, you’ll be able to use Chase Ultimate Rewards points again!
This is welcome news because you can fly to Hawaii for less using Korean Air miles.
When Korean Air returns as a Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air on a 1:1 ratio.
You can use Korean Air miles to fly round-trip on Delta Airlines to Hawaii for 25,000 Korean Air miles in coach and 45,000 Korean Air miles in Business Class!
Other airlines charge between 35,000 to 45,000 miles for a round-trip coach ticket and up to 80,000 miles for a round-trip Business Class ticket!
However, you have to be able to find low-level Delta Airlines award seats which can be difficult.Note: You can NOT book Korean Air award tickets online. You have to call Korean Air at 800-438-5000 or 213-484-1900.
So you should NOT transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air, UNLESS award seats are available. That’s because your points can’t be transferred back.
You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to partner airlines such as Korean Air when you have 1 of the following Chase cards: Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus, or the Ink Bold.
In January you’ll be able to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air again.
You can transfer 25,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air and fly round-trip coach on Delta Airlines to Hawaii. And a Business Class ticket would only cost 45,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
Delta Airlines award space can be hard to find so you should NOT transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Korean Air UNLESS award space is available.
