This past weekend, I transferred my Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Southwest to attend my best friend’s baby shower. My best friend, Kristen, is my oldest friend. And I’m an only child, so she really is like my sister! She lives in the DC area, so I have to fly to see her. We make it a point to see each other twice a year — and thankfully, that’s possible thanks to the points earned from the best travel credit cards!
I used ~32,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to book my flight to DC. You can earn 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points when you sign up for the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card and spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. I have the Chase Ink Business Preferred credit card in my wallet and still use it every month!
Businesses That May Help You Qualify for the Chase Ink Business Preferred
The Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card is a business credit card, but there are ways to qualify that you may not know about. I occasionally rent a room out of my home, so I have a home rental business. I also co-own a small photography venture, and occasionally buy and sell furniture. Here are some other ways that may help you get approved for the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card.
- Selling on e-bay, Amazon.com, Craigslist, or the Facebook Marketplace
- Freelance services like graphic design, writing/editing, consulting, etc
- Referee / Coach
Creative Ways to Help Meet the Chase Ink Business Preferred Minimum Spending Requirement
With the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, you have to spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening to earn the welcome bonus. That’s ~$1,667 each month for 3 months. If meeting the minimum spending requirements sounds out of your ability, there are also creative ways that you can meet your minimum spend. For example, my family and I prepaid several recurring bills— like our phone bills and internet bills. You must be prepared to pay off the bills in full when they are due, though — so don’t take on more debt than you can handle.
I love that the bonuses earned from credit cards can help make this world a little smaller so that I can continue to spend time with my best friend. And I’m super excited that I’ll have another friend who has a baby so that our kids can grow up together!
