I’m a busy mom, and that means I don’t have extra brain-power to have a lot on my plate right now.  I’m trying to simplify my life as much as possible so that I can live a happy, fulfilled life and spend more time with my young daughter.  And that means focusing my credit card strategy to cover only the best offers.

Chase Ultimate Rewards has been my favorite program for years, and I think I’m becoming an even greater fan now that I have a child.  That’s because travel is about to become more expensive because I’ll soon have to pay for an entire additional seat.  Here’s why Chase Ultimate Rewards is the best program for busy, working families.

The Chase Ultimate Rewards Program Has the Best Transfer Partners for Families

Chase Ultimate Rewards Transfer Partners That Are Best for Families

Chase has a couple excellent transfer partners for families:  Southwest Airlines and Hyatt hotels.  I’m stocking up on Chase points now so that we’ll have enough points for when my daughter needs her own seat.  Some of the best Chase credit cards with the highest welcome bonuses right now include the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, and the Chase Sapphire Reserve®.

Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines is the best program for families because of the Southwest Companion Pass, which gives you 2-for-1 flights!  My partner and I will have another airplane seat to pay for after our daughter turns 2, so that means more expensive travel.

I also LOVE Southwest Airlines because you always get 2 free checked bags, plus you can cancel or reschedule your flight for free!  I’ve used this so many times in the last year because life can be unpredictable (especially with kids!) 😉

And you can transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Southwest for award flights with no blackout dates.

The Coveted Southwest Companion Pass Is the Best Deal in Travel!

Hyatt Hotels

Hyatt has some excellent hotels for families.  Over the summer, I stayed at the Hyatt House in San Diego for just 12,000 Hyatt points.  I transferred my Chase Ultimate Rewards points to stay there, and loved that there was a kitchenette.

When I travel with my daughter, I look for hotels with a kitchen and preferably a separate bedroom area because my daughter goes to sleep before me and my partner.  Plus, it’s nice having a living room as a play area for her.

Does your family use Chase Ultimate Rewards points for cheap flights or hotel stays?  Tell us about it in the comments below!
