I’m very happy to share these still working links to the 50,000 point Chase Sapphire Preferred.

Link:  Chase Sapphire Preferred MasterCard with 50,000 points

These aren’t my “official” affiliate links, but they do link to the best offers which I can find for the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  I don’t know how long these links will last because 2 of the last 3 links to unpublicized offers (the Chase Ink Bold with 60,000 points and the $300 Chase Freedom) died within hours.

A comment by hunch suggested that perhaps I was responsible for killing those links.

Daraius, the other two links went dead after they were posted here. They’ve been around for months on private forums and also on small forums.

Thanx for posting this, and thanx for killing another offer.

While it is ego boosting to be thought of as “Daraius the Deal Killer,” the truth is that the links to the offers which died were all over the blogs, SlickDeals, Fat Wallet, and FlyerTalk which get much more traffic than Million Mile Secrets.

My policy has always been, and still is, to share what I find publicly regardless of whether it is in my best interest or not.  I’d much rather you apply from a link which gets you more miles and points than one which pays me a referral but gets you less miles and points.  If you’d rather not share something, don’t post it on the internet!

Last week, I passed along a reader tip that the 50,000 sign up bonus was reduced to 40,000 points on the Chase website.  I also speculated that there just might  be a link to the 50,000 point Chase Sapphire Preferred floating around after all the links in the affiliate channel were changed to 40,000 points.  I wrote (bolding mine):

I don’t have any inside information, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the sign-up bonus is reduced to 40,000 points.  Though I do hope that’s only a temporary decrease.  On the other hand, this could be like the Southwest card where there is still a 50,000 point offer floating around long after the official bonus has reduced to 25,000 points.

I’m not going to say when you should apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  The answer, as always, is when it makes sense for you.  But I know that I’ll probably apply for it in the next few days as I had originally planned.

The next day, I shared a non-affiliate link to the 50,000 point Chase Sapphire Preferred which was still working.  Well, that non-affiliate link is still working and displays the 50,000 point sign-up bonus.

In my experience, you almost always get the sign-up bonus that’s displayed on the offer landing page even if the offer is NOT publicly available on the Chase website.  But it doesn’t hurt to take a screen shot (just in case).

For example,  I’ve had a link to the Chase Southwest 50,000 point credit card on the Hot Deals tab ever since the official offer died.  I don’t get paid for linking to that offer, but I certainly do like listing only the best offers which I can find on the blog tabs regardless of whether I get paid to do that or not.

A few days later, I shared another reader discovery – a link to the MasterCard version of the Chase Sapphire Preferred.  This link was found on the MasterCard website. There’s a healthy discussion going on in the comments on that post on whether it is possible to get the bonus on BOTH the MasterCard and Visa version of the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

The short answer is “quite likely,” but you’ll have to work hard for it.

My affiliate links

Chase updated my affiliate links, and the best offer is for 40,000 points for both the MasterCard and Visa version of the Chase Sapphire Preferred (similar to what they advertise on the Chase website).  They also reduced the commission they pay affiliates to promote those cards.

As always, I’ve updated the Hot Deals tab and my review of the Chase Sapphire Preferred with the latest links to the 50,000 point offer.  I’d like to clean out all the dead links in the various posts on the blog (i.e. the old links for the Chase Sapphire Preferred which no longer open), but don’t have the time to get to it soon.

But I always update the Hot Deals tabs with links to the best offers I can find.  So check those tabs if you find a dead link on the blog or to confirm that a link on the blog is to the best offer which I can find.

Bottom Line:  For now, the Chase Sapphire Preferred with the 50,000 point sign-on bonus still lives even though the “official” offer is for only 40,000 points.  Hopefully, it will last long enough for Emily’s parents to finish applying for their mortgage so that they can sign-up.

Thanks for the weblog loaded with so a lot of information. Stopping by your weblog helped me to get what I was seeking for.

Its interesting that Ink bold 60k, Freedom 35k and CSP Visa 50k have all vanished. Only one link for WN 50k personal/business survives. This and Marriott 70k are from Oct,2011 and are still working. I wonder what the trigger was for pulling the other applications.

Million Mile Secrets

@Have Points Will Travel – Thanks for the suggestion, but Emily’s parents would rather wait. That’s fine because I’m sure there will be new offers later on as well.

@ArizonaGuy – Very interesting. Let us know what happens!

– Thanks for that update. I’ll edit the post to reflect that only the MC has a 50K bonus. I don’t know why some links remain and others go. The Priority Club 80K offer also remains as of now.

Daraius, both links are for the mastercard. There are no confirmable Visa links as of now. SPID is what matters. CELL is most likely irrelevant.

I’m being denied a Mastercard while I have a Visa. Despite several calls to a couple numbers. Only option they’re giving me is to close the Visa first. I’d rather not. Going secure message route, hoping for a better answer. I’ll close the Visa if I have to, it’s worth the 50K to do it, and they allow 30 days from app date to work with them on this stuff.

Daraius, I wonder if Emily’s parents could apply and then quickly wrap up their mortgage app before calling the reconsideration line a few days later? Not sure if that would work out. Most people seem to be going into “pending status” immediately after the online app, so Chase can manually review 70-80% of applications. I had this experience and my credit pull didn’t go through until the day I called the reconsideration line. Just a thought. Thanks for posting this!
