Highest-Ever Offer: Earn Up to 100,000 Hotel Points, Good for Travel in Europe

I’m a big fan of Hyatt hotels.  And I also enjoy Europe — even if I can’t stay at a Hyatt!  So here’s what I think of the highest-ever offer for The Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card compared to The World Of Hyatt Credit Card.  Spoiler alert:  I would only recommend you apply for the Radisson card if you already have the Chase credit cards you want, like:

• The World Of Hyatt Credit Card  (Hyatt has amazing hotels in Europe like the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome!)
• Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (our #1 pick for folks new to using travel points)
• Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card (best business credit card)

That’s because of the dreaded Chase 5-24 rule:  Chase won’t approve you for many of their card (like the Hyatt credit card) if you’ve opened 5 or more credit cards from ANY bank within the past 24 months. (Important exception: business credit cards from American Express, Bank of America, Chase, Citi, and Wells Fargo do NOT count towards your 5 credit card total.)

Already Have the Chase Hyatt?  This Offer Could Be for You

Through January 4, 2019, The Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card is offering up to 100,000 Radisson points (15,000 points higher than the previous offer!) after meeting minimum spending requirements:

• 50,000 Radisson points after your first purchase
• 50,000 additional Radisson points after spending $2,500 in purchases within the first 90 days of opening your account

That’s a pretty manageable spending requirement.  If you think you’ll have trouble meeting it, here are 40 ways to make it easier for yourself!

Radisson Hotels are lightly sprinkled throughout the US, though there are lots around the East Coast.  Their strongest presence is in Europe.  So if your travel style takes you to those places, it’s a good card to consider.

Plus, they have some pretty great hotels to choose from!  Just note that you’ll pay between 9,000 and 70,000 points per night, depending on the quality of the hotel.  So for example, you can stretch your 100,000 points to 6 nights at a hotel like the Radisson Hotel Niagara Falls-Grand Island.  Or splurge on a night at any of the 5-star hotels in France, Switzerland, Norway, and lots more!

This card comes with other benefits, like:

• 40,000 renewal bonus points each year when you renew your card
• Free Radisson Rewards Gold elite status
• Free night at participating Radisson hotels when you spend $10,000 in an anniversary year and renew your card (up to 3 free certificates per year)

There is a $75 annual fee.

Not All Hotel Points Are Equal — Hyatt Points Versus Radisson Points

If you’re simply looking for a credit card for free hotels, there are much better hotel credit card offers out there.  And just because a card offers fewer points doesn’t mean it’s a worse deal.

For example, The World Of Hyatt Credit Card comes with up to 60,000 Hyatt points after meeting minimum spending requirements.  That’s way less than 100,000 points, and sounds like an inferior deal.

But Hyatt charges far fewer points per night at its hotels.

You can stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome, perhaps the fanciest, 5-starriest Hyatt hotel at all, for just 30,000 Hyatt points.  Contrast that with the 70,000 Radisson points you’ll pay to stay at their 5-star hotels!  All of a sudden you realize that 60,000 Hyatt points are worth more than 100,000 Radisson points.

That said, the Radisson Rewards Premier card is issued by US Bank, so it’s good for folks who already have lots of cards from the other major miles & points card issuers.
