By traveling super cheap thanks to Chase credit cards, I’ve been able to meet new people and discover new ways of doing things. For the past few years, I’ve been traveling with the best group of women. We love traveling with each other so much that we call ourselves the Travel Wives!
Traveling with a group can be hard, but not for us. We are all very different, but fit together so well! I’m sharing a few of our favorite adventures and my Chase credit card strategy so I can travel with them in the first place.
Chase Credit Cards Make My Trips Possible
I was able to take these trips with my girlfriends for a fraction of a price thanks to Chase credit cards that earn points that I use towards travel! Credit cards like these helped get me there:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (I had this credit card when I first got into using credit card rewards for trips)
- Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card (I have this credit card and use it every month for my small business)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve® (I have this credit card in my wallet and use it all the time, especially for traveling and dining)
Transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards Points To Maximize Your Points
We’ve traveled together to several different countries, including Cuba, Portugal, and Croatia. You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to book flights on Southwest Airlines to visit Cuba, and you can transfer Chase points to United Airlines for flights to Portugal and Croatia. United Airlines also has flights to Cuba, but you’ll pay more miles (but most likely save on fees!)
- Cuba: 14,000 Southwest points
- Portugal: 60,000 United miles
- Croatia: 60,000 United miles
Southwest Points For a Trip to Cuba
I found round-trip flights from Austin, Texas, to Havana, Cuba, for just ~14,000 Southwest points. Taxes and fees might set you back ~$75, so do the math to see if it makes sense using points. A few years ago, I used Chase Ultimate Rewards that I transferred to Southwest to fly to Cancun, Mexico, and then took a regional flight over to Havana.
My girlfriends and I had so much fun riding around in Havana in classic cars from the 1950s. Some of our favorite trips were to the beaches near Havana, and riding down the Malecon, which runs parallel to the coast.
United Miles for a Trip to Portugal
You can fly round-trip to Portugal for only 60,000 United miles for Saver awards. Chase Ultimate Rewards points can also be transferred to United for free!
In Portugal, we went for wine tastings and even took a dance class where we learned kizomba, a popular dance in Portugal.
United Miles for a Trip to Croatia
I didn’t know half of the people I’d be staying with for ~10 days, so I took a gamble and joined a group on an incredible trip to Croatia. I used United Airlines miles to fly into Venice, and then we took a ferry to Rovinj. We stayed at a small guesthome in Rovinj, a romantic little town by the coast. This trip changed my life and after that we created our Travel Wives group!
