Note:  The above are just suggestions.  You can use your Hertz points any way you want!

How Much Can You Save on Your Next Road Trip With These Deals?

For example, if you buy 5,500 Hertz points for $252, you can get 2 weekly rentals (8 to 14 days) of standard (off-peak) rentals in the US.  If you use the full 14 days, that’s ~$18 per day ($252 for the points / 14 days), which could be a good price.

But you’ll have to do the math to see if this is a good deal for your travel dates.

Keep in mind, there are lots other ways to save on rental cars, including sites like Hotwire and Priceline.  AutoSlash can also help you get the best deal on rental cars by rebooking you if a lower price comes along.

You could also buy 13,200 Hertz points for $428.  This is enough points for a 4-day weekend Prestige (luxury) Collection AnyDay (no blackout dates) rental.

Being Prestigious Is Expensive!!!

But folks who rent a car in the 8 airports served by Silvercar can get a better deal!  For example, during the same weekend you could rent an Audi A4 for just $59 a day from Silvercar.  Now that’s a much better deal!

And sometimes they have special promotions where you can rent for just $52 per day!

Instead, Some Folks Can Rent an Audi A4 From Silvercar for 4 Days for Just ~$236!

I tried Silvercar earlier this year and had a great experience!  So I’d rather go this route than pay $428 for Hertz points.  But again, do the math to see if this Daily Getaway can save you money!

Bottom Line

Beginning at 1:00 pm Eastern Time today, you can buy discounted Hertz points.

There are other ways to save money on car rentals.  And personally, I’d skip the Prestige 4-day rental and try Silvercar, if I had plans to be in 1 of their 8 locations.  But that’s not the only way you can use the Hertz points, so see if there’s an option that will save you money!

Be sure to check out tomorrow’s deal where you can save on tickets to Busch Gardens and SeaWorld!

This deal was barely available – I tried in less than 30 seconds after 12 and the deal was already closed…

Come on Darius. You’ve been blogging for years and you should know the way to extract values from these rental car deals. 1) You don’t use the points for the recommended redemptions. You use the points for the highest class car for the lowest points. In the case of Hertz = Premium class. 2) You also save on the sales tax and concession fees as they are essentially being based on a $0 or very little sales price. 3) Insurance is not an issue as personal primary coverage generally covers rental cars in the U.S. One should double check though.

Will using arrival plus work for purchase like these?
