Here’s a round-up of today’s miles & points news!
1. Buy American Airlines Miles for as Little as ~1.73 Cents Each!
Through August 1, 2018, you can purchase American Airlines miles for as little as ~1.73 cents each! This is a better deal than other American Airlines mile sales, but you’ll have to make a big purchase to get the best discount.
If you buy 150,000 American Airlines miles, you’ll get 100,000 bonus American Airlines miles and a 10% discount on the purchase price. Including taxes, you’ll be paying ~$4,316 for 250,000 American Airlines miles, which is ~1.73 cents per point (~$4,316 purchase price / 250,000 American Airlines miles).
I generally don’t buy airline miles, but this could be a good deal for some of you if you’re looking for cheap Business or First Class tickets. You can book awards on Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, and Etihad with American Airlines miles.
This could end up being a steal because you can book a First Class award from Paris to Abu Dhabi in Etihad’s First Class apartments for only 62,500 American Airlines miles one-way! That would only cost you ~$1,081 for a ticket that can easily cost 4 times that much (62,500 miles X ~1.73 cents each)!
But the catch is you’ll need to find available award seats. And that can be hard. So I wouldn’t buy these miles unless you are extremely flexible with your travel dates or have already found and available award.
2. $10 Amazon Credit for Changing Your 1-Click Payment to Discover [Targeted]
If you qualify for this targeted offer you can earn a $10 Amazon credit by changing your 1-click payment method to an eligible Discover card.
This is a quick and easy $10.
The credit must be redeemed by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on August 31, 2018, or it will expire. And the terms state it can only be used for physical goods sold and shipped by Amazon.
Check this link to see if you were targeted.
3. Double Elite Credit for Hyatt Andaz Stays
From July 1 to August 31, 2018, you can earn double elite night credit for stays at any Hyatt Andaz location.
There isn’t an option to register for this promotion, so it looks like it’s not necessary to qualify. You’ll just need to be sure your Hyatt number is associated with your reservation and that you check out by August 31, 2018, for the night to count. And only the room occupied by the Hyatt member earns the double elite night credit.
You can read the full terms of the promotion here.
