Here’s an easy way to earn extra Southwest points for something you probably plan to do anyway!
With this deal from the Southwest shopping portal, you can earn 1,000 bonus Southwest points for filing your taxes with TurboTax. Even the free version of TurboTax qualifies!
And if you’ve got a Southwest Companion Pass, those points are essentially worth double. Currently, you can earn a Companion Pass that is valid until the end of 2019 and 30,000 bonus Southwest points after being approved for and meeting the spending requirements for any of these cards:
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card
- Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card
Here’s what you need to know.
Bonus Southwest Points With TurboTax
The Southwest shopping portal is offering 1,000 bonus Southwest points when you file your online 2018 federal tax return with TurboTax. To get the bonus, you must file by April 15, 2019, and your bonus points should post to your account within 8 weeks. There’s a limit of one shopping portal bonus per Southwest loyalty account.
Everyone (ok, almost everyone) has to file taxes, so you might as well make the most of it!
Just note that the bonus points you’ll earn with this deal do NOT count toward elite status or earning the Southwest Companion Pass.
But that’s not the end of the world because earning the Southwest Companion Pass is a lot easier with the latest offers on the Chase Southwest cards. All 3 personal Southwest cards are offering the Companion Pass after meeting the cards’ minimum spending requirements!
