Via Doctor of Credit, if you have elite status with ANY hotel chain, Best Western will upgrade your Best Western Rewards status to match!
And because applying for a match only takes ~2 minutes, it’s worth doing. Even if you don’t have a specific Best Western stay in mind. Because with Best Western Elite status, you’ll get perks like bonus points for your stay and room upgrades.
Here’s how to apply for Best Western’s status match.

With Best Western’s “No Catch Status Match” offer, Best Western will match your elite status to ANY other hotel loyalty program!
To apply for the match, you must submit a status match form by email, mail, or fax. And include your Best Western Rewards account information along with your elite status information from another hotel chain.
Proof of your elite status can be a copy of your rewards account statement or elite status card.
There’s no specific expiration date for this offer, so if you’re considering a status match, I’d recommend applying sooner rather than later!
Folks have reported being matched to elite status from loyalty programs like Hilton, Starwood, Club Carlson, Marriott, and IHG.And although the terms and conditions state that Elite status from ANY other hotel chain will qualify, they exclude a match to Best Western’s highest elite status, Diamond Select.
Here’s a list of credit cards that offer Elite status with various hotel chains, that you could match to Best Western:
- Ritz-Carlton Rewards® Credit Card
- IHG® Rewards Club Select Credit Card
- Hilton Honors™ Surpass® Card from American Express
- Chase Hyatt
- The Platinum Card® from American Express Exclusively for Mercedes-Benz
- The Platinum Card® from American Express
- The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
Is It Worth It?
Best Western’s Elite status program doesn’t offer many benefits. So I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay at a Best Western hotel just because you have Best Western Elite status. Because the main benefit of Elite status with Best Western is earning bonus Best Western points.
Plus, there are NOT a lot of ways to earn Best Western points. Aside from Best Western stays or applying for a card like the Best Western Rewards MasterCard or Premium MasterCard.
And Best Western does offer free breakfast to everyone, regardless of elite status!
Bonus
For an easy way to earn a few more (FREE!) Best Western points, play Best Western’s “Spin for Smiles” game. Million Mile Secrets team member Meghan earned 70 free Best Western points in ~30 seconds. 😉
Bottom Line
With the “No Catch Status Match” offer from Best Western, if you have elite status with ANY hotel chain, Best Western will match it!
To apply, send in the Best Western status match form, along with proof of your elite status with another program. Like a copy of your rewards account statement or Elite status card.
Best Western elite status doesn’t offer many perks except for bonus point earning. But if you stay at Best Western hotels, even occasionally, it’s worth applying for a match.
