Now through April 29, 2019, you’ll get a 25% bonus when you transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to Flying Blue, the loyalty program of Air France and KLM. So every 1,000 AMEX points will convert into 1,250 Flying Blue miles.
This is a handy bonus to take advantage of because Flying Blue has discounted Promo Awards every month. The discounts range from 20% to 50% and they can be stellar deals when you combine them with a transfer bonus.

AMEX Membership Rewards 25% Transfer Bonus to Flying Blue
Flying Blue doesn’t have an award chart but they do have a miles estimator. It’ll give you an idea of the cheapest price you’ll pay for an award flight, which varies depending on the route you’re flying.
For example, with a quick search, I found I can book an Economy award between Chicago and Paris for 22,000 miles one-way or 58,000 miles one-way in Business Class. And you can book one-way flights from the US to other European cities for as little as 53,000 miles. Keep in mind that while Flying Blue now lets you book any available seat with points, once the low-level awards are scooped up the price jumps.
But with this transfer bonus, you’d only need 44,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points to book a one-way Business Class flight. That’s a solid deal that could get even better once the new Flying Blue Promo awards are released for April (sign-up for our newsletter to get notified about that promotion).
Just note, Flying Blue charges fees on award flights. They can run $240-$340 per one-way Business Class award, which can add up quickly.
