It’s back!  Amazon has targeted a new round of folks to receive $30 off orders of $60+ when you use at least 1 AMEX Membership Rewards point to pay for part of your purchase.

I got in on this deal earlier so I didn’t qualify this time around.  But if you didn’t get in on this deal last time it’s worth checking to see if you can this time around.

To qualify for this deal, you’ll need to have a card that earns AMEX Membership Rewards points linked to your Amazon account, like The Platinum Card® from American Express.

If you don’t want to miss out on deals like this in the future, subscribe to our newsletter.

You won’t find a more valuable use for 1 AMEX Membership Rewards point

Save $30 at Amazon With 1 AMEX Membership Rewards Point

Here are the key terms:

  • See if you’re eligible with this link
  • Offer is valid through December 31, 2019
  • Spend at least $60 on Amazon (sold and shipped by Amazon)
  • At checkout, make sure you split your payment between cash and at least 1 AMEX Membership Rewards point
  • Confirm on the payment page that you’ve received $30 off your order

It’s worth noting that you should NOT normally use AMEX Membership Rewards points for Amazon purchases.  Because they’re more valuable when you transfer them to airline and hotel partners!

If you’re targeted for this discount and you can’t get it to show up at checkout the most likely reason is that you don’t have at least $60 in products sold and shipping by Amazon in your cart.  Anything sold by a 3rd party seller on Amazon won’t count toward the $60 total.

You can check out our guide to getting Big Travel with AMEX Membership Rewards points to learn more.

FYI this seems to be a one-and-done type promo even though it doesn’t seem to state that ANYWHERE in the Amex terms, only that it is a “Targeted” offer.

When I checked a few months ago this promo was available to me on all three of my Amex cards (Gold/ED/EDP) and I was thinking I could/would cash in on a free $90 total credit. Unfortunately, after applying the credit on my EDP card this promo no longer applies/activates on my two remaining cards, been trying daily for about two weeks with appropriate Amazon items. 🙁

If anyone was able to use it more than once let me know!

I believe they changed it a few months ago so that you can only redeem the offer on one card 🙁
