American Express will occasionally give folks bonus points for transferring their AMEX Membership Rewards points to travel partners. And through May 31, 2017, AMEX is offering a 25% bonus when you transfer your points to JetBlue.
Normally, AMEX Membership Rewards points transfer to JetBlue at a ratio of 5:4. But with this 25% bonus, you’ll get a transfer ratio of 1:1!
That’s NOT an outstanding deal. But it brings the JetBlue transfer rate up to most other AMEX transfer partners. If you’re thinking of transferring AMEX Membership Rewards points to JetBlue, now is the time!
Note: When you transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to a US airline, you will be charged an excise fee of 0.06 cents per point. So for example, if you transferred 10,000 points to JetBlue, you would be charged $6 (10,000 points X 0.06 cents per point). Why Transfer to JetBlue?
Million Mile Secrets readers love JetBlue because of things like fast in-flight Wi-Fi, extra legroom, and free unlimited snacks. If you live in a city that JetBlue serves, JetBlue points might be valuable to you!
JetBlue points are worth ~1.4 cents each when you redeem them for flights. And the award ticket prices are tied to the cash prices. So the cheaper the cash price, the fewer points you’ll need!
JetBlue is having a flash sale right now (ending tonight!), with flights as low as $34 one-way. So it’s a great time to book an award seat!
And if you have the Barclaycard JetBlue Plus card, you’ll get 10% of your JetBlue points back every time you redeem!

A quick way to earn JetBlue points is by signing-up for the Barclaycard JetBlue cards. But there are plenty of other ways to earn JetBlue points, too:
- Purchasing Amazon Prime (through May 8, 2017)
- Flying JetBlue (you’ll earn points based on the ticket price)
- Shopping at Amazon (earn 3 JetBlue points per $1)
- Flying partner airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Emirates (you’ll earn points based on distance flown)
- Travel partners such as Marriott, Rocketmiles, and Avis
- JetBlue online shopping portal
- Enrolling in the JetBlue dining program
- Various bonuses, such as rewards for completing a number of segments
Bottom Line
You’ll earn a 25% bonus when you transfer AMEX Membership Rewards points to JetBlue through May 31, 2017.
I don’t normally recommend transferring AMEX Membership Rewards points to JetBlue unless you have a specific flight in mind. Because the transfer ratio is usually 5:4. But this transfer bonus increases the transfer ratio to 1:1.
