Free hotel stays.  They’re really easy to earn.

The key is opening a hotel credit card when it’s got an especially monstrous welcome offer.  Credit card bonuses wax and wane, so it’s important to know when these amazing offers expire!  And tomorrow, October 31, 2018, another great bonus is changing.

The Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express currently comes with a welcome bonus of 100,000 Marriott points after meeting the minimum spending requirements.  That’s a ton of useful points you can use for a bucket list vacation!

For example, I spent 35,000 Marriott points for a night at the JW Marriott El Convento in Cusco, Peru, last year.  The hotel was STUNNING.  And you’d have enough points for 3 nights at this hotel just by earning the bonus (and the points earned from meeting the minimum spending) on the AMEX Starwood Business Card!

The JW Marriott El Convento in Cusco Can Cost $300+ per Night!  So This Bonus Can Take $900+ Off Your Amazing Peruvian Vacation

The Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card currently has a limited-time welcome offer of 100,000 Marriott points after spending $5,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening.  But you’ll have to apply by October 31, 2018, to lock in that deal!

The $95 annual fee is waived the first year, so you have ~11 months to test drive the card and see if you like it.  Even better, you get perks worth much more than the annual fee, like a free night award every year after your card account anniversary which you can redeem at hotels worth up to 35,000 points per night.

Here are a few other things you can expect with the card:

  • Earn 6 Marriott points per $1 spent on eligible purchases at participating Starwood and Marriott hotels
  • Earn 4 Marriott points per $1 spent at US restaurants, US gas stations, wireless telephone services purchased directly from US service providers, and on US shipping purchases
  • Complimentary Silver Elite status, which gives you nice perks like a 10% bonus on points earned during stays and priority late checkout

There are updated application rules that restrict certain folks from earning this card’s bonus.  So skim this post to see if you’re eligible for the AMEX Starwood Business Card welcome offer!  And check out our review of this card here.
