Say hello to today’s miles & points news!
1. Alaska Airlines Mileage Sale – 40%+ Bonus!
Link: Alaska Airlines Purchases Miles Bonus
Alaska Airlines is having a mileage sale until July 3, 2018! You’ll need to log into your account to see your bonus, but both my account and my wife’s account have a 40% bonus. But a One Mile at a Time reader reports being targeted with a 50% bonus! So you might be able to do better.
Alaska Airlines miles are some of my favorite miles to collect, and they aren’t easy to earn through credit card bonuses. So this is a good opportunity to top off your account if you’re just short of an award.
This sale could also be a good way to “purchase” Business or First Class seats at a steep discount. For example, it takes 50,000 Alaska Airlines miles for a one-way Business Class flight from the Lower 48 States or Alaska to Asia on partners Cathay Pacific or Hainan Airlines.
With this sale you could buy enough miles to book those awards for $1,045 (with the 40% bonus). If you paid cash for the same seat, it would easily cost you 2 to 5 times as much!
If you want to go this route, make sure there are available award seats on the dates you want to fly.
2. Earn 7,500 Cathay Pacific Miles With Only 2 Purchases (Targeted)!
Via Miles to Memories, select Synchrony Cathay Pacific cardholders are being targeted with a sweet deal!
You can earn a 7,500 Cathay Pacific mile bonus after making 2 purchases by June 21, 2018. That’s it! So if you have the card, be sure to double check your email to see if you qualify.
Cathay Pacific uses a distance-based award chart. And 7,500 miles aren’t enough for an award. So if you need more Cathay Pacific miles, American Express Membership Rewards points, Citi ThankYou points, and Starwood points transfer to Cathay Pacific at a 1:1 ratio.
