Hear ye, hear ye!  Chase has published their latest quarterly Chase Freedom bonus categories.

You’ll get 5 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1 you spend (5% cash back) at Walmart and department stores between October 1, 2017, and December 31, 2017, with your Chase Freedom!  If you spend the $1,500 maximum in bonus categories, you’ll earn 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points ($75 cash back).

Starting tomorrow, September 15, 2017 ,you can register your Chase Freedom card to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points (5% cash back) for purchases you make at Walmart and department stores.  Between October 1, 2017, and December 31, 2017.

To earn the bonus, you MUST register your card before December 14, 2017.  As long as you activate the bonus before then, you’ll even earn bonus points retroactively.

Million Mile Secrets team member Scott loves to collect 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points using his Freedom card, because he moves them to his Chase Sapphire Preferred!  Which allows him to transfer them to airline & hotel partners like Hyatt and United Airlines to get Big Travel with Small Money.

Department Store Bonuses Will Come in Handy for the Upcoming Holiday Season

Note:  Today, September 14, 2017, is the last day to register your Chase Freedom for bonus spending at restaurants and movie theaters between June and September.  You’ll also earn a retroactive bonus for that spending.  And registering for next quarter’s bonus now will NOT deactivate the current bonus categories for this quarter.

With the Discover It® card, you can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in purchases made in accordance with Discover’s 2018 Cashback Calendar after enrollment.

Bottom Line

You can activate your Chase Freedom card starting tomorrow, September 15, 2017,  for the Freedom’s upcoming bonus categories!

You’ll earn 5% cash back (5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points) for purchases you make at Walmart and department stores (up to a maximum of $1,500 in spending) between October 1, 2017, and December 31, 2017.  And the points you earn are worth even more when you transfer them to another card, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred!

I wonder if this might code to include Sam’s Club?
