Students in England recently raised money for their janitor, Herman Gordon, to visit Jamaica, his home country.  He hadn’t seen his family in over 10 years.  The fundraiser went viral and Herman was surprised to get an envelope with hundreds of British pounds and a heart-warming letter thanking him for being such a warm, friendly person.

If there’s someone special in your life who’s done a lot for you, then consider sharing your credit card reward points with them to send them on the vacation of their dreams.  There’s no better feeling than surprising people you love with a trip of a lifetime.  Some of my favorite trips were surprising my cousin and his wife with a suite in France and a 20-year reunion for my partner Alfy and his family in Japan.

My favorite credit card rewards program is Chase Ultimate Rewards.  I have several Chase cards and use the credit card rewards points by transferring them to hotel and airline partners, which gives me the best value.

How to Give a Trip of a Lifetime to Someone Special in Your Life Using Chase Ultimate Rewards Points

1.  Book 2 Nights at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica

If you have Chase Ultimate Rewards points, consider using them towards a stay at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Standard nights here start at ~$880 or 25,000 Hyatt points per night.  Because this is an all-inclusive hotel, all your meals, snacks, drinks, and entertainment are included in the price.  There’s no elite status required!

2.   Book a Round-Trip Flight on Southwest Airlines

You can easily transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Southwest Airlines and then book your friends/family.  I found award flights for just ~3,400 + ~$49 for 1-way flights from Fort Lauderdale to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Short on Chase Ultimate Rewards Points?  Here Are My Favorite Ways to Get More!

If you’re short on Chase Ultimate Rewards points, the best credit cards to get right now are the:

  • Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card (The best card for small business owners!) You can earn 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (The best new card for beginners to travel credit cards!) You can earn 50,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That’s $625 in travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®

I have the Ink Business Preferred and use it frequently, and when I first got started into miles & points, I had the Chase Sapphire Preferred.
